A Pioneering Managed Futures and CTA Research Firm
Stark & Company was originally founded in 1987 by Mr. Daniel B. Stark as Stark Research Inc. Mr. Stark has nearly 30 years of futures experience beginning in 1981 as a local floor trader at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. There he traded his own proprietary account while aggressively studying Fibonacci and Elliot wave principles, various chart formations, cycles, and a variety of trading methodologies.
In 1987 Mr. Stark acquired the rights to the Norwood Index. The Norwood Index is one of the industry's first benchmark indexes, which began tracking 9 commodity futures funds in October 1978. The Stark Fund Index today tracks the performance of more than 200 futures funds worldwide and is the oldest continuously published index on managed futures fund investments.
For more than 20 years, Stark & Company has been researching the managed futures industry while compiling and publishing performance and analytical statistics on futures traders and funds in a variety of products, newsletters, and reports. All of the firm's research data is now available through the STAR CTA Database.
Today, Stark & Company provides access to a unique and qualified team of professionals with over 70 years of combined experience in portfolio structuring, asset management, institutional research & due diligence, marketing, operations & compliance, and trading.
The firm is a data provider to PerTrac, a leading performance analysis software vendor.
